Union County, SC is home to multiple motorsports facilities and a state-of-the-art sports complex. Each motorsports facility showcases everything from GNCC off-road bike and ATV racing to NHRA sanctioned drag racing shows. The Timken Sports Complex has a total of seven ball fields and two batting cages available with turf surfaces, not to mention a game room, parent lounge, lighted walking trail and a fenced playground. Union County Dragway

In February 2009 the Union County Dragway began its inaugural season as Union County’s newest motorsports park. The racing facility is located off Highway 215 in the Santuc community.

The 1/8-mile track, with 750 feet of concrete, measures 2,500 feet in length and is 60 feet wide. Lights are installed every 75 feet, making the track well lit for night racing. There is seating for 1,600 spectators, while more can watch from a tailgating area. The width, length and concrete make the track special, with an extra 700 feet at the end of the strip there is plenty of stopping area that other tracks simply don’t have.

The facility also features two food and beverage concessions, not to mention a tower that includes suites for guests and sponsors. The Union County Dragway also features the state of the art timing system in COMPULINK.

Big Buck

America’s largest off-road motorcycle and ATV racing series held right here in the Upstate, at the Big Buck Farm in Union County.

1997 saw the first Big Buck Grand National Cross Country held in Union County, SC and the 2015 VP Racing Fuels Big Buck GNCC is the nineteenth. In that time over 19,000 riders from all over the world have participated in the Big Buck GNCC events.

The Big Buck course presents the standard GNCC obstacles: everything from tight woods, to fields, creek crossings, rocks and hill climbs. It’s a fast, wide-open course, but definitely not easy! The field sections are very fast and they get chopped up and rough as the weekend goes on, so you need to have your suspension dialed in.

Timken Sports Complex

The Timken Sports Complex is a top-notch facility in Union, South Carolina. We have a total of seven ball fields. There are four fields that are 215’ in left, center, and right. These fields can be used for youth baseball and fast pitch softball. There are two fields that are 300’ in center, and 280’ in left and right. These fields can be used for boy’s baseball and slow pitch softball. We have one championship field for baseball. This field is 375’ in center, and 320’ in left and right. Each field has two bullpens that are fenced in for the players’ and fans’ safety.

The facility has a 4,900 square foot North main tower, and a 1,800 square foot South main tower that include concessions in each tower, bleacher sunshades, amply-sized air conditioned restrooms, family restrooms, a game room, a parent lounge, and a press facility. The other features, such as the irrigation and lighting systems, make the new complex a top notch baseball and softball facility.

Two batting cages are also available with turf surfaces and a Jugs softball and baseball machine available for rent. There is a .833 mile long, lighted walking trail that surrounds the park. It is available for use before, during, between, or after games. Children of all ages will enjoy the fenced playground area as well.

Union County Stadium

The Union County Stadium provides facilities for a number of programs and events throughout the year. The stadium is the home field of the Union High School Yellow Jacket football and baseball teams and the Union American Legion baseball team.

During the year the stadium is also used for concerts, festivals, rallies, band contests, car washes, flea markets, wrestling, carnivals, and graduation exercises sponsored by non-profit, charitable, and commercial organizations.

Union County Agricultural Fair

For over 100 years, The Union County Agricultural Fair Association has presented an excellent carnival to the citizens of Union and Surrounding counties. The fair is a week long event held at the Union County Fair Grounds. The 2017 Fair is going to be the biggest and best that we have had in years. The carnival is provided by Family Attraction Amusement Co. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the week as well.
